Job Title: Bridge Design and Project Management Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bridge Design and Project Management Lead to join our team at COWI A/S. As a key member of our structures team, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the design and project management of bridge projects, ensuring that they meet or exceed project standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee the design and project management of bridge projects, including the preparation of project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
  • Coordinate with the CAD team to prepare drawing packages and BIM models.
  • Prepare engineering reports and effectively communicate with internal team members and external stakeholders to meet project needs.
  • Prepare tender packages, including technical specifications, special provisions, bill of materials, and issued for construction drawings.
  • Have high technical abilities and experience in the design and construction of bridges and working with modern bridge design codes.
  • Have experience with a wide range of structure types, including steel, precast, and cast-in-place girder bridges, slab bridges, box structures, timber, retaining walls, and culverts.
  • Be experienced in designing and detailing of all typical structural components, including superstructures, substructures, foundations, and articulation systems.
  • Be proficient in the use of engineering software, such as Excel, Mathcad, CSiBridge, MIDAS, SoFiSTiK, or similar.
  • Have experience with preparing proposals and leading business development activities.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience in Bridge Design and Project Management.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
