Pension Administration Intern: Enhance Your Analytical Skills

Aon is a leading professional services firm that helps organizations make better decisions. As a Pension Administration Intern, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our clients' pension plans.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year.

About the Role

This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Canadian offices. You will have the opportunity to learn about Aon's culture and business while developing practical skills necessary for success in the field of pension administration.

Responsibilities include:

  • Calculating benefit entitlements on retirement, termination, death, and marriage breakdown;
  • Calculating PAs, PSPAs, and PARs, and preparing applicable filing forms;
  • Preparing annual pension statements;
  • Year-end update of plan records, including the reconciliation of membership, contributions, and trust funds;
  • Preparing government forms, including the Annual Information Return, Form 7, and PBGF forms;
  • Assisting with testing of the pension system for new and existing clients according to plan provisions and administrative requirements;
  • Maintaining standard operation procedures;
  • Responding to member calls and facilitating requests;
  • Maintenance of members' records; and
  • Other duties as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Good oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment;
  • Thorough and good organizational skills;
  • Good knowledge of Excel and Word;
  • Previous work experience or actuarial co-op experience in a consulting/insurance environment is an asset;
  • Students should be enrolled in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Business Administration; and
  • Applicants should preferably be in their second work term or above.
