Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Assistant I to join our team at Lethbridge Centre Village Mall. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient, and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procure, handle, process, dispatch, and test specimens in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform various laboratory functions, including phlebotomy and ECG testing.
  • Report results and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure smooth operations and high-quality patient care.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Recent phlebotomy and ECG experience within the last 2 years.
  • Ability to lift up to 10lbs on a frequent basis.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on client services and public relations.
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment and perform repetitive duties efficiently and accurately.
  • Flexibility to meet operational requirements, including hours and location of work.
  • Proficiency in data entry.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a mobile collection's environment.
  • Working knowledge of Connect Care and MCIS.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Leadership, customer service, or change management courses.
