Graduate Research Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Graduate Research Assistant to support the science stores and chemical inventory functions at the University of Lethbridge.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safety orientations to new and existing students, research associates, and post-doctoral fellows as required.
- Coordinate with various research labs to schedule and perform chemical inventory reconciliation utilizing Chematix chemical inventory software.
- Educate lab personnel on proper chemical segregation based on hazard classification, and assist in organizing and maintaining the chemical inventory.
- Support daily operations in the Science Stores, including packing/unpacking inventory, shelving chemicals and consumables, and data entry into Excel sheets.
- Occasionally populate spreadsheets using provided data to aid in a database creation.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a graduate program, preferably in a scientific discipline, with basic knowledge of chemical safety and handling.
- Familiarity with Chematix chemical inventory software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Working Environment
This role offers hands-on experience in laboratory safety management and operational support within a dynamic research environment.
What We Offer
Graduate Assistant wages will be paid according to Schedule A of ULGSA Collective Agreement.
