About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Youth Support Specialist to join our team at Coast Mental Health. As a key member of our community-based rehabilitation services, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental illness to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Community Outreach: Connect with youth in the Maple Ridge area who are not accessing services and provide support to help them access community services, including mental health, physical health, addictions, and employment services.
  • Case Management: Work with clients to identify their needs and develop individualized plans to support their recovery and well-being.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for clients to access necessary services and supports, and provide support to help them navigate the system.
  • Program Development: Develop and implement programs to support clients in achieving their goals, including leisure activities, cooking, and life skills training.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other agencies and organizations to provide comprehensive support to clients.
Requirements
  • Education: Diploma in Community Social Service or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience working with youth experiencing issues related to addictions, mental health, and homelessness.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and knowledge of community resources and services.
