Job Overview:

The Multilingual Payroll Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the Payroll Team Lead by executing all aspects of payroll processing. This position is primarily responsible for supporting Quebec clients and collaborating with colleagues across the HR & Payroll, and ERP teams as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter, process, and balance bi-monthly payroll earnings and adjustments for assigned payrolls.
  • Support onboarding of new integrations as required (bilingual French/English) in collaboration with the Payroll Team Lead.
  • Administer pay services by providing counseling and guidance to employees on different options available in various situations.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the payroll and accounting departments.
  • Prepare routine and special reports including preparing month end and year end reporting.
  • Process and balance payroll expenses, deductions, and adjustments.
  • Provide timely responses to inquiries from Finance, HR, managers, and employees regarding payroll, vacation, and sick time.
  • Create and maintain accurate payroll records and mail correspondences for immediate access.
  • Work efficiently as an integral part of the payroll team by meeting deadlines.
  • Provide support for project work and other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline such as Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, or Industrial Relations.
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) required; CHRP designation an asset.
  • Experience with various payroll and HR systems with at least 5 years experience in ADP Workforce Now required.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation and best practices to provide a comprehensive systems-thinking approach to decisions.
  • Experience in working in complex organizations and understanding the nuances in client needs.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills and experience in developing strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels.
