Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developer/COBOL Specialist to join our team at Lorven Technologies. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMSDB, and CICS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain batch jobs using JCL, ensuring efficient and reliable execution.
  • Design and implement data transformation rules for continuous data replication between IMS DB and SQL Server DB using Precisely's SQData CDC.
  • Build data resiliency processes to compare source and target data stores, identify discrepancies, and facilitate data correction by the operations team using IBM Infosphere DataStage.
  • Develop COBOL to JAVA APIs and provide timely and quality support to business units and IT stakeholders.
  • Perform business-as-usual (BAU) changes to support operational requirements, including ad-hoc or periodic updates to application data and business logic.
  • Provide development and testing support to other interfacing systems.
  • Perform integration testing and peer review.
  • Develop, unit-test, and deploy new mainframe DevOps pipelines under the RBC's Engineering Transformation Program.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in development and/or hands-on application maintenance on large mainframe applications.
  • Expertise in mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMSDB, CICS, Focus, File-Aid, Xpeditor, ISPF, and other mainframe tools/utilities.
  • Experience with source code management tools, including Endevor and GitHub.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools, including UCD, Jenkins, Sonarcube, and ZUNIT.
