Mainframe Developer/COBOL Programmer Role

At Lorven Technologies, we're seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer/COBOL Programmer to join our team. As a Mainframe Developer/COBOL Programmer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining large-scale Mainframe applications. Your primary focus will be on COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMSDB, CICS, and other Mainframe tools and utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain batch jobs using JCL.

• Document data transformation rules for continuous data replication in SQL Server DB from IMS DB using Precisely's SQData CDC.

• Build data resiliency processes to compare source and target data stores, report discrepancies, and enable data correction by the operations team using IBM Infosphere DataStage.

• Develop Java APIs from COBOL code.

• Perform E2E data analysis and validation processes.

• Provide timely and quality support, including incident resolution and operational reporting to BU and IT stakeholders.

• Perform BAU changes to support operational requirements, including ad-hoc or periodic updates to application data and business logic.

• Provide development and testing support to other interfacing systems.

• Perform integration testing and PIV.

• Develop, unit-test, and deploy new Mainframe DevOps pipelines under RBC's Engineering Transformation Program (a nice-to-have).

Skillsets:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in development and/or hands-on application maintenance on large Mainframe applications.

• Mainframe - COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMSDB, CICS, Focus, File-Aid, Xpeditor, ISPF, and other Mainframe tools and utilities.

• Source Code Management - Endevor and GitHub.

• DevOps – UCD, Jenkins, SonarCube, and ZUNIT.
