We are seeking a skilled Cost Estimator to join our team at Young Roofing & Construction Inc.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for our construction projects. This is a key role that requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs for construction projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
  • Develop and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
  • Set up and maintain cost monitoring and reporting systems
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
  • Develop and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Client focus
  • Organized
Work Environment

This is a permanent full-time position with a 35-hour workweek. The language of work is English.
