Job Title: Cost Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Cost Estimator to join our team at Young Roofing & Construction Inc.

Job Summary

The Cost Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for our construction projects. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs for construction projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
  • Develop and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
  • Set up and maintain cost monitoring and reporting systems
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
  • Develop and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
