Job Summary:
The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Education Program Facilitator to join our team. As a key member of our EarlyON Child and Family Centres, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of our centres, working collaboratively with school staff to provide high-quality programs, and ensuring consistent program delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of assigned EarlyON Child and Family Centre
- Work collaboratively with school staff to provide high-quality, play-based programs that reflect the needs of the community
- Ensure consistent program delivery and provide a family literacy program that focuses on developing literacy and numeracy skills
- Model parent-child interactions and facilitate parenting education that promotes a positive home/school partnership
- Collect relevant data, monitor program registration and attendance, and maintain up-to-date and accurate records
- Provide a nutritious snack daily to children attending the program and create a welcoming, safe, nurturing, inclusive, positive, and respectful environment
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of early childhood development and knowledge of elementary school operations
- Two years' experience working in an environment with children from birth to age 6 and their families, parent and/or caregiver, trained and certified in providing First Aid
- Knowledge of adult education principles, experience working in high-need communities, and the ability to speak a second language is an asset
- Incumbent must have knowledge of school board policies and procedures related to early years programs and to the operation of the school system
- Ability to work with minimum supervision within a multicultural environment and respect and work with a diverse range of children and families of all backgrounds and abilities
Education and Certification:
- Completion of a two-year community college program in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
- Registration with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators is required
Salary and Benefits:
$% vacation pay per hour
