Job Summary

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking a Casual Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a Casual Registered Early Childhood Educator, you will work in collaboration with the classroom teacher to provide high-quality and effective play-based education to support enhanced learning and cognitive, emotional, and social development for Junior and Senior Kindergarten students in a full-day Early Learning Program.

The successful candidate will have completed a two-year community college program in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent. Registration with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators is required, or must be in progress, and a minimum of one (1) year of child care experience is required. Valid First Aid certification/CPR is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality and effective play-based education to support enhanced learning and cognitive, emotional, and social development for Junior and Senior Kindergarten students.
  • Work in collaboration with the classroom teacher to develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of all students.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes respect, empathy, and understanding among students, staff, and families.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students to ensure that all needs are met and that students receive the support they require.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education.
Requirements
  • Completed a two-year community college program in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent.
