Human Resources Strategic Partner

Mohawk College of Applied Arts & Technology is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Strategic Partner to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on a wide range of HR-related matters.
Key Responsibilities- Provide proactive and comprehensive HR consultancy, advisory, and coaching services to managers and employees.
- Lead organizational reviews and design projects to enhance strategic, operational, and service goals.
- Support the implementation of recommendations flowing from organizational review and design projects.
- Advise on job descriptions, staffing models, employee relations, investigations, performance management, and recruitment and selection.
- Support the development of effective, accessible, and inclusive team dynamics and work culture.
- Coordinate and advise on the development, interpretation, and distribution of HR data, analytics, and reports.
- Three-year degree with specialized, professional qualifications in Human Resources Management/Labour Relations or a related field.
- Minimum of seven years of progressive experience as an HR professional with demonstrated experience in various HR functional areas.
- At least four years of experience within a unionized and operationally complex organization.
- HR and/or management experience within public sector or education fields is considered an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of employee relations, human resource functions, and pertinent legislation.
- High level of skill in interpreting relevant materials with excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to clearly communicate and explain complex situations.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy in typical work-related applications and literacy in the utilization of HR information systems.
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
- The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, employees, and communities.
