At Protak Consulting Group Inc., we are seeking an experienced Organizational Design and Classification Consultant to join our team. This is a contract opportunity.

Job Overview

  • This position involves performing organizational design assessments, including organizational modelling, evaluating job descriptions against applicable classification standards, and submitting proposed ratings for discussion with the Manager in charge.
  • The successful candidate will conduct relativity studies and job validation studies and reviews, ensuring compliance with the TBS Classification Policy and chairing or participating on classification committees or classification grievances as required.
  • They will amend, write, or re-write Job descriptions to meet the Standard, identify sub-groups, prepare complete narrative classification rationales, and coach/mentor trainees if applicable.
  • The Organizational Design and Classification Consultant must have recent experience delivering classification and/or organizational design services for the Federal Public Service, with sufficient depth and breadth to demonstrate independence and minimal direction.
  • Significant experience related to analyzing organizations and writing work descriptions is essential, along with Classification Accreditation by Treasury Board, which would be considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform organizational design assessments, including organizational modelling.
  2. Evaluate job descriptions against applicable classification standards.
  3. Submit proposed ratings for discussion with the Manager in charge.
  4. Conduct relativity studies and job validation studies and reviews.
  5. Ensure compliance with the TBS Classification Policy.
  6. Chair/participate on classification committees or classification grievances as required.
  7. Amend, write, or re-write Job descriptions to meet the Standard.
  8. Identify sub-groups.
  9. Prepare complete narrative classification rationales.
  10. Coach/mentor trainees if applicable.

Requirements

  • A reliable internet connection is required for remote work.
  • Candidates must hold an active Security Clearance (Reliability Status at minimum).
  • Bilingualism would be considered an asset.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $90,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits may include paid vacation time, sick leave, and access to professional development opportunities.

Working Conditions

  • Level of effort: 3 days of full-time work per week.
  • Contract duration: up to three (3) years total.
  • Location of work: Work will be conducted off-site (remotely) with access to government facilities provided as required.
