Customer Service Representative, Campus Support

Nelson, Canada Selkirk College Full time

Reporting to the Campus Manager, this position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to provide exceptional service excellence to all Campus staff.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Performing switchboard duties, the successful candidate will:

  • Maintain switchboard procedures manual and respond to general inquiries in person and over the phone.
  • Process tuition payments, print SLED receipts, and provide daily backup for Finance and Continuing Education.
  • Instruct employees on phone, voicemail, fax, and photocopier functions, and maintain and update telephone information.
  • Book rooms using the room book system, send invoices, and resolve booking conflicts.
  • Provide limited word processing services, maintain Campus CMS content, and schedule counselling and student appointments.
  • Maintain and monitor the key distribution system, communicate and route custodial and maintenance requests as necessary, and coordinate and trouble-shoot day-to-day campus-related issues.
  • Prepare, receive, and send courier packages, and serve as the main contact for First Aid emergencies.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Keyboarding skills at 60 wpm, proficiency in Windows XP and Office 2007, including Word, Excel, and email.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to edit and proofread documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team, including proficiency in CMS, SLED, and First Aid Level I.

Education and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • High school graduation, plus one year of an Office Administration Program with word processing option.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of related experience.

This is a temporary, full-time position commencing June 28, 2024, and ending August 30, 2024, or upon the return of the incumbent. The salary is pay grade 6 - $29.86 per hour - in accordance with the Selkirk College PPWC Collective Agreement.
