Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Switchboard and Reception Coordinator to provide exceptional support to our campus community. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing on-call switchboard, reception, and information services, as well as assisting the Campus Manager and campus staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide switchboard services, including answering calls, responding to inquiries, and maintaining switchboard procedures.
  • Assist with daily operations, including processing tuition payments, printing SLED receipts, and maintaining telephone information.
  • Provide training and support to employees on phone, voicemail, fax, and photocopier functions.
  • Book rooms using the room book system and resolve booking conflicts.
  • Assist with limited word processing services and maintain Campus CMS content.
  • Schedule counselling and student appointments.
  • Maintain and monitor the key distribution system and communicate with custodial and maintenance teams.
  • Coordinate and troubleshoot day-to-day campus-related issues.
  • Maintain and monitor bulletin boards and prepare, receive, and send courier packages.
  • Be the main contact for First Aid emergencies.
Requirements
  • High school graduation, plus one year of an Office Administration Program with word processing option.
  • Minimum 1-2 years related experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Windows XP and Office 2007.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Working Conditions

This is a temporary, full-time (100%) leave-replacement position commencing June 28, 2024, and ending August 30, 2024, or upon the return of the incumbent. The salary is pay grade 6 - $29.86 per hour - in accordance with the Selkirk College PPWC Collective Agreement.
