We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the planning and direction of food preparation, ensuring a safe and friendly atmosphere for guests and staff, and promoting a safe and sanitized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation to meet resort F&B specifications.
- Ensure a safe and comfortable atmosphere for guests and staff.
- Coach, mentor, and lead kitchen staff during working hours.
- Manage kitchen operations to ensure smooth service and high levels of cleanliness and safety.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote a positive and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service and high levels of guest satisfaction.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve kitchen operations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume resort or hotel kitchen.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff to achieve high levels of performance.
