Software Development Leader for Amex

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Leader to join our team at American Express. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of complex software systems.
Job DescriptionAs a Senior Engineer II, you will:
- Lead the design and development of complex software systems, driving innovation and efficiency in software development processes.
- Leverage deep software product development knowledge to drive the delivery of value-add initiatives for the Canada ICS business.
- Promote best practices in software development, including code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions that meet business needs.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading software engineering teams through ongoing development efforts.
- Mentoring and guiding team members to achieve their goals.
- Ensuring engineers enforce team standards and deliver quality products that meet customer needs.
- Accountable for accurate completion and quality of all documentation and work produced by the engineering team.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of software development experience in a professional environment.
- Proven experience leading teams of engineers and hands-on expertise with application design, software development, and automated testing.
- Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
