Job Summary

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a skilled Software Quality Assurance Engineer in Development to join our team. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing technical systems for applications, utilizing a comprehensive set of practices, knowledge, and skills to achieve quality objectives.

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for an experienced QE professional with a strong background in software testing, test automation, and quality engineering. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with various testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies, including Agile and DevOps. They will be responsible for executing functional tests, tracking defects, and collaborating with project teams to ensure that test suites are up-to-date and relevant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop automated test cases using existing frameworks and tools.
  • Design effective test cases using model-based approaches and test design techniques.
  • Provide daily status reports to QE Lead/Manager on projects under test deliverables.
  • Create Test Suites, Traceability matrices, and support test suite walkthroughs with different teams.
  • Support the implementation of the QE Program and overall QE process and standards through continuous test preparation and execution.
  • Leverage existing automation frameworks, tools, and artefacts to ensure testing processes are continuous, comprehensive, and fully autonomous.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Typically requires 2-4 years of QE related experience.
  • Good knowledge of Testing Life Cycle, SDLC, and Defect Management processes for application support and development.
  • Hands-on experience with Iterative Waterfall and Agile Project Methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, design, and analytical skills with out-of-the-box thinking to come up with creative solutions on testing approach in critical timelines.
  • Good knowledge of test automation frameworks/tools, e.g., (SoapUI, Selenium, Appium, UFT/Lean UFT/RestAssured/Robot Framework, TestNG).
  • Basic knowledge of industry practices with focus on Agile, DevOps, environments, and test integration.
