Job Summary

The City of Ottawa's Planning, Real Estate and Economic Development department is responsible for planning and delivering growth activities, including long-range land use planning, transportation planning, and development approvals. As a key member of the team, you will undertake various professional planning services or projects, including research, analysis, and technical report preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform planning decisions
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve common objectives
  • Monitor and synthesize information to establish future directions and research needs
  • Communicate effectively with elected officials, City staff, and external agencies
Requirements
  • Completion of a 4-year university degree in urban and regional planning or a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of related professional experience
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Proficiency in available computer technology and tools
