Job Summary:

Parsons is seeking a skilled Transportation Planning Specialist to support transportation projects in Eastern Ontario and the Atlantic Provinces. As a key member of our Critical Infrastructure team, you will play a crucial role in shaping sustainable, efficient, and equitable transportation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct transportation design, planning, and policy studies, evaluating alternative solutions to integrated mobility challenges.
  • Contribute to the completion of large-scale transportation projects, including corridor studies, environmental assessments, and master plans.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in transportation planning and engineering, including place-making, accessibility, and diversity.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of other disciplines and firms, working within a team environment.
  • Prepare technical reports and proposals, and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and municipal staff as required.
  • Develop project planning schedules and budgets, and contribute to business development activities.

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in Urban/Regional Planning or Civil Engineering, with a master's degree and certifications appreciated.
  • Relevant work experience, with a solid understanding of transportation planning, planning policy frameworks, and design techniques.
  • Registration as a Professional Planner or Professional Engineer, or evidence of pursuit of registration.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written), with bilingual English/French considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of transportation planning themes, practices, and guidelines.
  • Creative problem-solving and team player skills.
