The Opportunity: WSP Canada is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Manager to join our ERI (Energy, Resources, Industry) team. This position will oversee a team of engineers and technicians responsible for the development of renewable energy projects and high-voltage substations across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead administrative, human resources, and technical management tasks within the electrical discipline.
  • Supervise a team of engineers and technicians spread across Canada.
  • Oversee electrical work and provide guidance to engineers, technicians, and drafting teams.
  • Develop initiatives to strengthen operational and technical project delivery as well as technical development of the electrical discipline.
  • Lead projects in electrical engineering within our renewables market (solar, wind, and battery energy storage) and support the Hydro and Dams and Transmission and Distribution markets.
  • Ensure quality control of deliverables.
  • Participate in the growth of the business unit.
  • Participate in the preparation of proposals and business development activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Quebec or another province in Canada.
  • At least 10+ years of relevant experience in consulting engineering and engineering management.
  • Experience managing/leading a team of engineers and/or technicians desired.
  • Experience with renewable energy projects (solar, wind, etc.).
  • Experience in executing multi-discipline engineering work on medium and large-scale complex projects across the pre-feasibility study, feasibility study, basic and detail engineering, the full EP and EPCM life cycle, including field engineering and commissioning experience.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Bilingual - English, French.
  • Pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving.
  • Multi-disciplinary versatility; a dynamic, team-spirited, and quality-oriented approach; and a commitment to technical excellence are essential.
