Security Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Guard to join our team at Algonquin College. As a Security Guard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors on campus.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime, and to provide a visible security presence.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents, and provide assistance as needed.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and alarms to detect potential security threats.
- Conduct investigations and gather evidence to support incident reports.
- Collaborate with other security personnel and emergency responders to ensure a coordinated response to security incidents.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in security or a related field.
- Police Foundations Diploma is strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates superior customer service skills and ability to work independently.
- Able to commit to Continental Rotation for a minimum of six (6) months.
- Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and section 494 of the Criminal Code.
- Must be 18 years old and meet all other minimum requirements.
- Must possess a valid Security Guard License in Ontario.
- A full driver's license (G License) is strongly preferred.
- First Aid/CPR Level C with AED certification.
- Management of Aggressive Behaviour and Use of Force Certification.
