Job Overview

We are seeking a Clinician Specialist to provide clinical and academic services within the Child Protection Service Unit (CPSU) and Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU). This role involves medical assessments of children suspected of physical, sexual, or emotional maltreatment, working closely with a multidisciplinary team and the Ministry of Children and Family Development.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical assessments of children in cases of suspected maltreatment
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive treatment plans
  • Provide consultation services for inpatients at BC Children's Hospital
  • Pursue opportunities for professional growth and development in quality improvement, education, and research
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Eligibility for registration in the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
  • Demonstrated expertise in pediatric hospital medicine, with a strong commitment to best practice and knowledge advancement
  • Excellent clinical skills and ability to work effectively with families
  • A demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently
