Senior Estimator for Infrastructure Projects

Industra Construction Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team in Surrey, British Columbia. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing and coordinating complete estimates for Industra tenders, primarily focusing on municipal, federal builds, and infrastructure pursuits in both public and private sector markets throughout Western Canada.
We offer a competitive salary of $110,000 - $130,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including dental care, disability insurance, extended health care, life insurance, paid time off, profit sharing, RRSP match, and vision care.
Job Description:The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of estimating and cost control related experience, with at least 2 years in infrastructure-related construction and 2 years in commercial construction. They will be proficient with MS Projects, MS Word, and Excel, and have technical knowledge and experience bidding design-build projects in Canada.
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for reviewing proposal specifications, drawings, and attending pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate. They will select vendors and/or subcontractors and determine cost effectiveness of projects to be bid, perform risk and contract management responsibilities as required, and prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of the scope of work.
The selected candidate will consult with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve any potential issues. They will review design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials, and review the list of work to be performed by subcontractors.
The Senior Estimator will review the final estimate and apply strategic cost factors where necessary, monitor client changes and advise the estimating team of all changes in scope during the estimate period, and follow awarded contracts as assigned, including estimating extra work items, change orders, and credits.
Requirements:- Experience with B2W or HeavyBid software desired
- Minimum of 5 years estimating and cost control related experience, with at least 2 years in infrastructure-related construction and 2 years in commercial construction
- Proficient with MS Projects
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel
- Technical knowledge and experience bidding design-build projects in Canada is an asset
