About the Role

The Electrical Project Lead is a critical position responsible for overseeing the cost estimation and operational management of commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create project construction schedules
  • Submit 'Requests for Information' to clients
  • Manage daily activities of assigned projects
  • Act as the primary point-of-contact for project personnel
  • Coordinate meetings, schedule updates, submit deliverables, and address outstanding open items as requested by clients
  • Prepare look-ahead documents and weekly, monthly progress reports and billing information
  • Review and monitor job costs versus budgets
  • Regularly report to the management team
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates (labor and material) for commercial & industrial projects within set deadlines
  • Conduct field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation
  • Participate in the estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare bills of material and other information for use by purchasing
  • Prepare comprehensive labor and material cost estimates
  • Schedule and attend field walk-downs with customers, subcontractors, and construction personnel to understand and determine constructability requirements
  • Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of change orders
  • Closely coordinate with project management
  • Support construction personnel throughout the project lifecycle in tracking and understanding the basis of cost estimate
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
About You

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management and estimating in the electrical industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient in specifications, proposals, and documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC) and local codes
  • Able to read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, etc. plans and specifications, including blueprints, proposals, and other relevant documents
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in estimating software such as Accubid or equivalent
  • Able to prepare construction schedules in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
  • A team player who can effectively collaborate with diverse internal and external partners
  • Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused on tasks for extended periods
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 per year, paid bi-weekly. The compensation package also includes medical, basic life insurance, AD&D, critical illness, long-term disability, dependent coverage, extended health benefits, prescription drugs, paramedical services, dental health, and ThrivePass Health & Wellness Reimbursement Program. Additionally, the company offers annual vacation starting at 10 days plus 5 paid sick days, superior educational assistance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
