Job Summary
The Area Supply Attendant is responsible for the completion of all functions of stock maintenance, distribution, and related data recording under the direction of the Stores Supervisor or the Logistics Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Count, record, and enter the status of departmental medical/surgical supplies using a computer system and/or handheld computer.
- Perform various return functions as per established procedures.
- Deliver and re-stock/put-away medical/surgical supplies to departments following established quotas.
- Complete routine records by performing duties such as completing established documentation for direct (non-stock) supplies previously received in the system; deliver to the appropriate department.
- Enter requested requisitions into the computer as required.
- Clean carts, shelves, and rotate stock in stores and assigned areas.
- Maintain the store room in a clean and orderly condition.
- Perform routine clerical duties such as answering the phone, filing, and entering, editing, and retrieving data from the computer system.
- Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts by counting items in inventory as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Grade 10 plus six (6) months' recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
