Under the direction of the Stores Supervisor or the Logistics Coordinator, this position is responsible for the completion of all functions of stock maintenance, distribution, and related data recording.
Key Responsibilities
- Counts, records, and enters the status of departmental medical/surgical supplies using a computer system and/or handheld computer.
- Performs various return functions as per established procedures.
- Delivers and re-stocks/puts-away medical/surgical supplies to departments following established quotas.
- Completes routine records by performing duties such as completing established documentation for direct (non-stock) supplies previously received in the system; delivers to the appropriate department.
- Enters requested requisitions into the computer as required.
- Cleans carts, shelves, and rotates stock in stores and assigned areas.
- Maintains the store room in a clean and orderly condition.
- Performs routine clerical duties such as answering the phone, filing, and entering, editing, and retrieving data from the computer system.
- Assists with physical inventories and cycle counts by counting items in inventory as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 10 plus six (6) months' recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Skills & Knowledge
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
