About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team at Barrie Special Care Home Ltd. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, enabling them to maintain their independence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer bedside and personal care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of our residents
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide companionship and social interaction, helping to prevent loneliness and isolation
  • Assist with medication administration, following established protocols and procedures
  • Participate in regular exercise programs, promoting physical activity and mobility
  • Collect specimens, as required, and maintain accurate records
  • Prepare and serve meals, ensuring residents receive nutritious and appealing food
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities
  • Knowledge of adult education and training principles
  • Ability to speak multiple languages, an asset
