About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Caregiver Assistant to join our team at Shannex Incorporated. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and mobilizing, according to their individual care plans;
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement resident care plans;
  • Assist with planning and implementing resident leisure activities;
  • Perform delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practice;
  • Communicate and report relevant information regarding resident care or safety to supervisors;

Requirements

  • A valid Personal Support Worker Acute Care diploma or Provincial Personal Care Worker course or equivalent;
  • Ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays;
  • Availability to work a minimum of 6 shifts per quarter, available to work all shift types and days of the week;
  • Ability to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hire;
  • Valid CPR & First Aid Certification or BLS (required);
  • Advanced proficiency in the English language is required, proficiency in French considered an asset;
  • Alzheimer's and Dementia Care course considered an asset;
  • Previous working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment an asset;
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care;
