About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plumber to join our team at Homewood Health, a leading provider of mental health and addiction services. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our water distribution system and plumbing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair plumbing fixtures, including toilets, sinks, and taps, using approved methods and techniques.
  • Install and maintain pipe assemblies, sewers, and other plumbing systems, adhering to provincial plumbing codes and local ordinances.
  • Service and repair designated equipment, including backflow devices, according to standard practice and department policy.
  • Plan and coordinate installation needs, reviewing blueprints and work sketches to ensure efficient and effective maintenance.
  • Work safely from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs, using a variety of equipment and tools, including power construction equipment and hand tools.
  • Document work orders and generate technical service reports, ensuring accurate and timely communication with stakeholders.
  • Liaise with external service providers and contractors to arrange and oversee new or repair work, ensuring compliance with regulatory codes and department policies.
Requirements
  • 3 years' experience as a licensed plumber in the Province of Ontario, with knowledge of all aspects of operating and maintaining a water distribution system, plumbing fixtures, and sewer systems.
  • Excellent numerical and spatial ability, with technical competence to work with Automated Building Control.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision, with excellent organization and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with evidence of a good work and attendance record.
  • Commitment to working within Homewood's Health & Safety Policy, with a strong focus on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
