Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Director to join our team at Creative Manitoba. As a key member of our marketing team, you will be responsible for promoting our titles while developing strong relationships with authors, review outlets, and industry colleagues.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies for assigned titles each publishing season
  • Negotiate promotional opportunities with media outlets to ensure optimum timing and exposure
  • Create and maintain media mailing lists for various book subjects
  • Write engaging promotional copy to showcase our titles
  • Maintain strong relationships with authors, sales teams, and colleagues in the publishing industry
  • Gather title data for catalogue and online listings
  • Collaborate with authors and designers on the creation of book covers and jackets
  • Analyze statistics and information to inform marketing decisions
  • Represent Creative Manitoba at author events and industry functions when feasible

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree or college diploma, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency with design software, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media platforms
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with traditional and digital marketing strategies

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $45,000-$55,000 per year, based on industry standards and the location of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The role is currently part-time, 15 hours a week, with the opportunity to work remotely as needed. We offer a competitive benefits package and support for professional development.
