As a Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and review of various Canadian income tax returns and tax election forms. You will also provide assistance to Partners and Managers on tax planning assignments, participate in special engagements, and research tax issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and review of Canadian income tax returns and tax election forms.
  • Provide assistance to Partners and Managers on tax planning assignments.
  • Participate in special engagements.
  • Research tax issues and prepare memoranda.
  • Liaise with tax authorities on audits and requests for information.
  • Prepare and present technical sessions for staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Professional designation.
  • Commitment to learning in a tax environment.
  • Research, analytical and problem identification skills.
  • Good technical knowledge of GAAP requirements for tax provisions.
  • Computer skills including Caseware and Taxprep.
  • Strong understanding of a client-focused environment.
  • Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
