Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Tax Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in providing excellent client service, ensuring all aspects of our clients' tax compliance needs are met, and providing clients with tax planning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and review of various Canadian income tax returns (T1, T2, T3, and T5013 returns) and tax election forms.
- Provide assistance to Partners and Managers on tax planning assignments.
- Participate in special engagements.
- Research tax issues and prepare memoranda.
- Liaise with tax authorities on audits and requests for information.
- Prepare and present technical sessions for staff.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a public accounting firm.
- A professional designation.
- A commitment to learning in a tax environment.
- Research, analytical, and problem identification skills.
- Good technical knowledge of GAAP requirements for tax provisions.
- Computer skills, including Caseware and Taxprep.
- Strong understanding of a client-focused environment, including organizational skills to handle multiple projects with conflicting timelines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines.
- Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
