The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Community Mental Health team at IWK Health Centre. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, providing evidence-based assessments, consultations, and interventions for youth aged 3-19 years.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in child and adolescent mental health, with experience in providing individual, family, and group therapy. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with other healthcare professionals and community agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based assessments, consultations, and interventions for youth aged 3-19 years
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and community agencies to provide comprehensive care
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that are tailored to the individual needs of each client
  • Participate in the clinical training activities of the Psychology discipline

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university program
  • Completion of an APA or CPA accredited Predoctoral Internship in Psychology
  • Current registration with or eligibility to be registered with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology
  • Formal training and clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health
