About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Graduate Student to join our research team at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. Our team is focused on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate neural stem cell reprogramming and differentiation, with the goal of developing new therapies for brain diseases such as stroke, Alzheimer's disease, and autism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct molecular, cellular, biochemical, and behavioral experiments using a variety of techniques, including transgenic mouse models, in vivo neurodegenerative disease models, human iPSC-derived NPC culture, and single cell RNA-seq approaches.
  • Develop and maintain laboratory protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other researchers and scientists to design and implement research projects.
  • Analyze and interpret data, and present findings in a clear and concise manner.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD degree in a relevant field, such as Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or Neuroscience.
  • Experience in molecular biology, cell culture, and animal models.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with tissue culture and small animal experiments.
  • Knowledge of bioinformatics and computational biology tools.
