Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Masters or PhD student in the Department of Cellular & Molecular Medicine to join our research team. Our research focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate neural stem cell reprogramming and differentiation. We aim to define ways to recruit stem cells that are resident in the brain or derived from non-neuronal cells, with the goal of promoting neural repair. We are currently using stroke, Alzheimer's disease, and autism as brain disease models to explore underlying molecular mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct molecular, cellular, biochemical, and behavioral experiments using transgenic mouse models, in vivo neurodegenerative disease models, human iPSC-derived NPC cultures, and single-cell RNA-seq approaches.
  • Develop and optimize laboratory techniques, including cloning, mutagenesis, PCR, cell line or primary cell culture, immunohistochemistry, and immunocytochemistry.
  • Collaborate with our research team to design and implement experiments, analyze data, and interpret results.
  • Communicate research findings through written reports, presentations, and publications.

Requirements

  • Experience in molecular biology, cell biology, or in vivo animal model studies.
  • Excellent academic record and research experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Laboratory experience in tissue culture and small animal experiments.
