Animal Care Attendant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Attendant to join our team at the BC SPCA. As an Animal Care Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional care and attention to the animals, including feeding, cleaning, and providing a safe and comfortable environment.
- Assist with front desk activities, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and providing information to the public.
- Work collaboratively with other shelter personnel to maintain a clean and safe environment, and to ensure the smooth operation of the shelter.
- Provide excellent customer service skills, including patience, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
- Assist with animal adoptions, including preparing animals for adoption, and providing information to potential adopters.
- Perform other duties as required, including cleaning, maintenance, and administrative tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License and driver's abstract.
- Philosophical harmony with the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the BC SPCA.
- Demonstrated interest in all aspects of animal welfare.
- Sound knowledge of animals, their breeds, characteristics, and common diseases.
- Strong desire to provide excellent customer service skills, including patience, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with colleagues, customers, and volunteers.
- Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision.
