Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Privacy Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role will play a critical part in supporting our corporate privacy management program, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and respond to privacy breaches and incidents, collaborating with internal stakeholders to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
- Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for internal and external systems, programs, and initiatives, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Provide expert advice on privacy laws and regulations, supporting the development of policies and procedures.
- Deliver education and training on privacy best practices to internal stakeholders, ensuring a culture of compliance.
- Update and maintain databases and registries for privacy compliance management, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Completion of a Business Communications course or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in intermediate Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- 4 years of related experience researching and writing formal documents/reports, including 2 years of experience in a Privacy Analyst or equivalent position interpreting British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
- Demonstrated experience preparing reports to support policy analysis and decision-making for privacy.
- Demonstrated experience drafting PIAs for technological systems that adhere to privacy legislation guidelines.
