We are seeking a Privacy Compliance Specialist to join our team, who will play a key role in supporting our corporate privacy management program. The successful candidate will assist in ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and internal privacy protection policies applicable across Pacific Blue Cross.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate privacy breaches and incidents, and determine the root cause and appropriate mitigation measures.
- Conduct and review Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) of internal and external systems, programs, and initiatives.
- Provide privacy information and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of documents for various internal and external stakeholders, including reports for committees, management, and the Board of Directors.
- Deliver education and training on privacy to internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- High school graduation, or equivalent.
- Completion of a Business Communications course, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in intermediate Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- 4 years of related experience researching and writing formal documents/reports, including 2 years of experience in a Privacy Analyst or an equivalent position interpreting the British Columbia Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
About the Position
This is a permanent, full-time position, paid at hourly rates and receiving wage increases in accordance with the Collective Agreement. The starting wage for this position is: $34.84 per hour.
