Overview

Scarborough Retirement Residence is seeking an experienced Executive Chef - Culinary Services Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality meals and beverages to residents in a timely manner while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Job Description

The Executive Chef - Culinary Services Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that meals and beverages are prepared and presented in accordance with the residence's culinary standards. This includes:

  • Managing kitchen operations and staff
  • Preparing and cooking meals and snacks for residents
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety and handling procedures
  • Collaborating with the dietary department to develop and implement menu plans
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Red Seal Cook in Hospitality, Catering, Retirement, or Long-Term Care
  • Leadership and supervisory skills
  • Experience with special and therapeutic diets
  • A Food Handler's Certificate
  • Physical ability to lift and transfer heavy and hot items safely
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

This position requires the ability to work alternate weekends and be available for on-call shifts. A Vulnerable Position / Sector Screening (VPS) and immunization record, including a Tuberculosis Test, are also required.
