About the Role

Island View Place Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with Daily Living Activities
    • Help residents with bathing, dressing, and grooming
    • Assist with feeding and serving meal trays
    • Support residents with mobility and transfer needs
  • Provide Personal Care
    • Assist with toileting and incontinence care
    • Help with personal hygiene and grooming
    • Support residents with medication management
  • Assist with Medical Care
    • Take vital signs, such as temperature and blood pressure
    • Assist with wound care and dressing changes
    • Support residents with medical equipment and supplies
  • Support Residents with Activities
    • Assist with recreational activities and outings
    • Support residents with exercise and physical therapy
    • Encourage socialization and engagement
  • Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment
    • Assist with cleaning and disinfecting resident rooms and common areas
    • Help with laundry and linen management
    • Support with waste management and disposal
  • Communicate Effectively
    • Communicate with residents, families, and healthcare team members
    • Document resident care and activities
    • Participate in care planning and goal setting
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Certifications
    • First Aid Certificate
    • CPR Certificate
    • Healthcare Aide Certificate
