Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Signals Engineer to join our team at Primary Engineering & Construction. As a key member of our electrical design team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems for transportation infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for traffic signals, including power distribution, lighting, and auxiliary systems.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure that engineering deliverables meet client requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical reports, tender documentation, and field support materials.
  • Ensure that project deliverables are met in a timely manner to a high-quality standard.
  • Direct and mentor junior staff as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in traffic engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in traffic signal design and operations.
  • P.Eng. or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in Alberta is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Safety Code, Alberta Transportation Standards, and regional traffic design standards.
  • Proficiency with engineering software including AutoCAD, MicroStation, and AGi32 lighting design software.
