Senior Social Media Strategist

About the Role
Mount Royal University is seeking a highly skilled Senior Social Media Strategist to join its Marketing and Communications team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for shaping the university's online presence and driving engagement with students, faculty, and the global community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase the university's online reach and profile.
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the institutional social media accounts, including content creation, curation, and publishing.
- Provide leadership and guidance to social media administrators campus-wide to ensure adherence to best practices, usage guidelines, brand, and crisis communication protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate social media into marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze social media performance using data and analytics tools to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including students, faculty, and alumni.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging social media trends and technologies to ensure the university remains competitive and innovative in its digital presence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent.
- 5-8 years of direct social media experience with a large, complex organization.
- Previous post-secondary experience is an asset.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt writing style for various purposes.
- Experience with videography, photography, editing, and design template software.
