Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Plant Maintenance Superintendent to join our team at StevenDouglas. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and mobile maintenance functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Maintenance Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive maintenance plans to achieve operational excellence, while maintaining cost controls.
  • Lead Maintenance Team: Supervise and coordinate the plant and mobile maintenance team to maintain productivity levels, efficiency, and safety.
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Oversee the overall safety of all personnel working at the site, ensure environmental compliance, and maintain an effective system of communications with employees, supervisors, and site management.
  • Investigate and Troubleshoot: Investigate abnormal operating events, or equipment failures to determine the cause, and make adjustments, repairs, and/or modifications as needed.
  • Develop and Implement Best Practices: Continuously conduct research on industry best practices and utilize findings to identify more cost-effective, efficient operating procedures.
  • Manage Performance: Delegate responsibilities, objectively evaluate performance, and hold team members accountable in a constructive manner.
  • Review and Analyze Performance: Review weekly and monthly forecast with management and commercial teams to address production schedules to meet customer needs.
  • Provide Training and Support: Provide work direction, training, and support to maintenance workers responsible for inspecting, repairing, moving, and/or installing plant machinery and equipment.
Requirements
  • 10+ Years of Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in Open Pit Mining and processing.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors, and site management.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and troubleshoot complex issues.
