Job Summary:

The Executive Director will provide visionary leadership and oversight to S.T.A.R.S. Children's Home, a registered non-profit agency. This role is responsible for implementing the organization's mission, managing daily operations, and ensuring financial sustainability. The ED will work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and execute the organization's strategic plan, build relationships with key stakeholders, and enhance the charity's impact and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Strategy:
    • Develop and implement the organization's strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
    • Provide visionary leadership to advance the organization's mission and goals.
    • Provide leadership to communities, families, and agencies in working with young children who have experienced trauma.
    • Foster a positive organizational culture that promotes teamwork, transparency, and inclusivity.
  • Operations Management:
    • Oversee daily operations and ensure the effective implementation of programs and services.
    • Develop and manage operational policies and procedures with the Board of Directors to ensure compliance and efficiency.
    • Lead and support the senior management team, including setting performance goals and conducting evaluations.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Prepare and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Finance Committee.
    • Ensure financial stability and accountability through sound fiscal management practices.
    • Oversee fundraising strategies and campaigns to achieve revenue goals and diversify funding sources.
  • Fundraising & Development:
    • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure financial support from individual donors, corporations, foundations, and government entities.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, sponsors, and partners.
    • Ensure effective donor communication and stewardship to build long-term support.
  • Board Relations:
    • Support and collaborate with the Board of Directors in fulfilling its governance responsibilities.
    • Provide regular updates on organizational performance, financial status, and strategic initiatives.
    • Assist in the recruitment and orientation of new Board members.
  • Public Relations & Advocacy:
    • Represent the organization to external stakeholders, including media, community groups, and government agencies.
    • Promote the charity's mission and programs through public speaking engagements, media relations, and marketing efforts.
    • Advocate for the organization's interests and engage in policy discussions relevant to the sector.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Ensure the organization complies with all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
    • Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect the organization's assets and reputation.
    • Oversee the management of insurance, legal matters, and organizational policies.
    Qualifications and Requirements:
    • Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, social services, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • Experience: At least 10 years of senior management experience in a nonprofit organization, including experience in fundraising, financial management, and strategic planning.
    • Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Knowledge: Understanding of nonprofit financials, grant writing, and fundraising strategies; familiarity with board governance and compliance issues.

$35,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
