The Law Society of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to join its Accounting team.

This role plays a vital part in supporting the department's mission by providing timely, accurate, and meaningful financial information and advice to stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting and accounting, with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

About the Role:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting information.
  • Work closely with the Manager, Finance and Accounting to perform various accounting tasks.
  • Provide documentation and analysis to external auditors.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations, GST returns, and other financial reports.
  • Assist with financial forecasting, budgeting, and cash management.
  • Collaborate with the Billings Coordinator during fee billing periods.

Requirements:

  • CPA designation considered an asset.
  • Minimum three years of experience in financial reporting and accounting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamic Great Plains (GP2016) or Business Central considered an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Demonstrated excellence in attention to detail and ability to work independently.
