Fleet Maintenance Assistant Manager Job Description

The Fleet Maintenance Assistant Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the management and maintenance of our company's mobile assets, including vehicles, equipment, and other resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly manage shift supervisors, mechanics, and administrative staff within the department – Approximately 24 employees
  • Communicate with schedulers to manage the flow and productivity of the shop ensuring that production needs and goals are met
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest level of safety standards including assessing equipment on a quarterly basis for long-term maintenance requirements
  • Set goals for safety and work with the H&S team to ensure those goals are fulfilled
  • Manage costs and work towards continuous improvement on internal and external costs for asset maintenance
  • Maintain AIM maintenance plans while considering market priorities for equipment
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Provide input on vehicle specifications

Requirements

  • Licensed 310T
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a management or supervisor position
  • Strong understanding of current trucks and trailers on the road
  • Strong multitasker and communicator
  • Ability to understand, manage, and process invoices
  • Fleet knowledge and experience
  • Experience in fleet maintenance including Kenworth trucks is preferred
  • Knowledge of hydraulics as well as industrial lifting equipment
  • Understanding of CVOR requirements and relevant legislation
  • Willingness to travel if required
