You will utilize proactive selling techniques to add business or expand current customer accounts, while collaborating with outside sales teams to ensure goals are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain orders through email and telephone calls, verifying and entering items, and transferring orders to fulfillment.
  • Increase orders by suggesting related items, explaining features, and checking customer buying history.
  • Own, qualify, and develop opportunities passed from marketing, outside sales, and national accounts.
  • Identify ways for continuous improvement of processes.
  • Prepare, generate, and follow up on verbal or written quotations to secure orders or determine reason for loss of order.
  • Review open customer order reports and take action on open items, including those at risk of missing customer promised delivery dates.
  • Maintain distribution system backorder reports, associated customer expediting reports, and notices, as well as customer notifications.
  • Report industry trends, competitive pricing, and customer feedback to management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Degree or Equivalent required.
  • Requires knowledge and experience in sales and sales administration, with a focus on acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Clear communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to prospect and market concepts to existing and potentially new accounts.
  • Ability to take action and solve a range of problems.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision.
