About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Silverthorn Community, where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by the Physician and in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario's Medication Administration Standards.
  • Document and follow up on concerns and complaints from clients, families, or team members, and seek assistance from the Registered Nurse or designate as needed.
  • Promote clients' self-care and self-sufficiency, emphasizing adaptation and abilities, promoting wellness, and providing preventative health education.
  • Complete required assessments, RAPS, and care plans within established timeframes.
  • Support unregulated care workers through guidance, direction, training, and education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate.
  • Current Medication Administration Certificate.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in Geriatric Nursing, Healthcare, and/or Rehabilitation as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN).
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • As part of legislative requirements, all successful candidates must meet the provincial police check and tuberculosis screening requirements as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-graduate studies in Geriatrics and Nursing Administration.
